Through African American stories and history, participants will consider important topics of teaching hard or sensitive themes, the power of language and culturally specific vernacular, the challenges of accessibility for some classrooms due to explicit lyrics, and the skills that support critical thinking about cultural identities and one&#8217;s subject position.
