The Educators Portal and Generations Portal are designed for classrooms as well as public programs.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.honkytonks.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Honky Tonks, Hymns, and the Blues<\/a>\u00a0provides educational background on many southern musical traditions. Units of study such as Sense of Place, Sense of Wonder, Sense of Discovery and classroom activities model how educators can develop lessons and incorporate regional folk artists into their teaching.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.musicnationalservice.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Music National Service<\/a>\u00a0is a nonprofit movement supporting music for the public good. This \u201cmusical Peace Corps\u201d operates in several cities.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.arteducators.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">National Art Education Association\u00a0<\/a>supports visual art education through research, advocacy, and resources.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.nasaa-arts.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">National Assembly of State Arts Agencies (NASAA)<\/a>\u00a0is the membership organization of the nation\u2019s state and jurisdictional arts agencies. Identify your state arts council and find advocacy materials.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/ncta-usa.org\/\">National Council for the Traditional Arts<\/a>\u00a0produces traditional music tours and nationwide folk arts festivals, including the National Folk Festival, which rotates to a new city every three years.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/arts.gov\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">National Endowment for the Arts\u00a0<\/a>Folk and Traditional Arts Program supports folklorists around the nation, often through state arts agencies. They fund Local Learning and other folk arts in education initiatives nationwide.
